taking wtf'ery to whole new levels...

I don't think brain-melting is quite a strong enough term for what the Moff just did to Who... it was, erm, ambitious, I guess? But messy. So, so, so very messy, coming back from the high drama of 'A Good Man' to something with a hell of a lot of dashing about and red herrings
And, wait - Melody is born, like, centuries in the future, vanishes with Evil Eyepatch Lady (whose name totally escapes me), but does still kill the doctor, right? In her space suit, in Utah in 2011, when he is 200 years older? And then she regenerates from the small child to, er, another small child about, er, 15 years ago in New York, assuming she must be aging normally as she's grown up with Amy and Rory? (except now she's regenerated into an older version - even if Alex Kingston does look insanely fabulous for her age, she is undeniably older than 21, lol!) Where is her frickin' time travel coming from?? She doesn't actually have her own Tardis last time I looked (even if she is, er, related to it?!).
Hitler... ah, Hitler turned out to be a massive red herring. And very conveniently shoved in a cupboard at the first opportune moment for no apparent reason. I can see why they went there, and I guess it's a cute nod to Matt playing Christopher Isherwood this year maybe? But mostly done just for the seriously misleading title, which is of course exactly something River would say, before she is even River :o) And also so Rory gets to say "Shut up Hitler!"
There were lovely moments though... it's amusing how Mels' behaviour is so precisely a psychopathic young River, once you realise what's going on; the Doc dressed up in tophat and tails proving why yet again he and his little psychopathic soulmate are quite so perfectly matched...! Much, much wedding talk! Also his slightly-not-quite-explained rules lectures to River... it sounds like part of something bigger and more complicated; but when would that have fitted in? I'm assuming what the doc whispered to her was the same thing River whispered to him in 'Silence in the Library'; the proof that they are what they are/have been/will be? See, brainmelting!
ohh, absolutely loving Alex Kingston on Confidential comparing regeneration to giving birth, and absolutely nobody else who has to act it having the same point of reference :o)
Also, River's hold-up plays a hell of a lot better with the Confidential MIA soundtrack, tee hee!
It was just a... mess. Yep, it was a cool mess. There was a big chunk of Meet Dave (hey, I kinda liked that film, much maligned as it is...!), mashed up with T2 and, er, Innerspace. The Teselecta was one of those slightly naff monsters though... I mean, the flashing evil jellyfish antibody things were more than a little WTF for no apparent reason!
