I will say, it's been a hell of a long time coming, but we have, very eventually, made it to the Big Trip. Woohoo!

Of course, it hasn't been without its dramas... S's passport is currently somewhere in the blackhole that is United's lost & found dept (actually, knowing United, it's probably still sitting in the seat pocket of the plane it was left on back on Tuesday, but ho hum.) Luckily we're in the States so damn long that the UK consul aren't even bothered about issuing emergency travel documents until our last week here, so the only immediate consequence seems to be that I just have to provide all the hotel ID for checking in, and that, oops, S can't get served booze. Which was a teeny bit of a bugger on her birthday yesterday, but what the hey - I normally can't have anything cos of being designated driver person so not too much of a prob right now (ok, I also have a 6 pack secret stash of Bud as well but I'm mean like that, lol!).

We're currently about to leave Lakewood in CO, having decided that Denver was a fairly nice place (but it was quite amusing the number of locals who kept asking "but why did you come to Denver?" The short answer being, you have two international hubs to get to Yellowstone, and Salt Lake is sadly lacking an REI flagship store :o)
