Oops.  This is kinda what happens when you check your bank balance and then go on a week-long spending spree before any of the big direct debits go out.
Soo.. guess a couple of pairs of shoes are going back then! Plus I've just (finally!) liberated the Icesave money. And I'm not spending any more money for the rest of the month (yep, right, sure you are!) plus there's a little bit of money I'm still owed.. it might be alright. Possibly.  Fingers crossed.

Of course, an entire day of not going out spending money and having a massive clear-out/tidy up has probably driven me a little bit nutty.  I've just spent half an hour trawling the interwebs for the trailer for the last ep of Devil's Whore, and it doesn't seem to bloody exist! I thought vast tracts of the web existed merely so you can rewatch trailers obsessively, but channel four don't seem to agree... I already caught the trailer on tv a couple of times, and watched ep 3 again tonight, as it's the kinda thing that improves on repeated viewing once you get over the sheer audacity of some of the plot twists.

And wallow in the whole ridiculously depressing romance aspect of it, of course (she made Sexby cry! Although he may just have heard that he now had fan vids popping up on Youtube already, it's a toss up).  It's such a wonderfully messy little history they both have that it goes way beyond the usual UST... I mean, he kinda half proposed to her because he's been besotted for years, but also half because of the excuse he gave - that he respected her last hubby so much (hell, everyone liked Thomas. Except Cromwell, of course. Bastard.) and he'd asked him to look after her.  Not that Sexby ever needed asking to do that the last seventeen times he saved her from certain death, obviously.

Heh.  The tv trailer they keep showing in ad breaks (but not exactly the one at the end of last ep) kinda made it look like she changed her mind about Sexby. I think.  I'm also extrapolating madly (and a tad obsessed, so sue me) that he's the one she's saying "I thought I lost you" to in the first trailer...
So, going by Andrea Riseborough's slightly spoilery interview, she's supposed to be aged 38 at the end of the last one (with a child? Assuming that doesn't mean the baby she just lost?), and 17 in the first ep, and it was 2 years between the first 2 eps, only a few months between eps 2 and 3, then however long Sexby lasted in Ireland for the third ep (not that long surely), so... 38 is going to be a bit of a jump, methinks. And I'm guessing, based on the whole historical accuracy thing, that Sexby gets arrested for trying to assassinate Cromwell...

And now I'm cracking up slightly over a thread on IMDB: "Don't marry Angelica! You'll be brown bread!!".  Yep, not even Sexby's gonna survive this one :o(
Although, *makes frantic calculations from the dates on wiki* he was arrested in 1657, dies in the Tower in 1658,  and Ireland might have been.. 1650-ish? The king was executed in 1649, soo.. We can fit a few years in there!
Although, again, as someone on IMDB pointed out, this series has been about as historically accurate as a loaf of bread, so he could quite possibly get a reprieve (hell, after the whole nifty fake hanging saga, I think he's owed one!).  And apparently I'm not the only one wishing they'd  kill off Cromwell instead of Sexby...  Sod the history!
